HOW TO PRINT YOUR DIGITAL CARD

Set Up Your Printer

Set your printer to 8.5 x 11 size cardstock paper, photo quality, glossy print.

Check the card information to see if the image is to be printed in landscape or portrait orientation.

Landscape orientation is when the printed image is wider than it is tall. The image will be printed 5.5 inches across and 4.25 inches high.

Portrait Orientation is when the printed image is taller than it is wide. The image will be 4.25 inches across and 5.5 inches tall

HOW TO PRINT AND FOLD USING NON-SCORED CARDSTOCK

1) If you are using plain, non-scored cardstock, simply print the image on a blank piece of 8.5 x 11 paper cardstock.

2) Put the cardstock paper into the paper carrier as for regular printed material - small edge first.

3) Fold the card AFTER printing.

4) After the card has printed, wait several minutes before folding so the ink has time to dry. The image may smear if folded immediately.

5) To fold the card, carefully align the long edges and press down along the folded edge. Take a clean object, such as a ruler, and press firmly along the folded side to crease the edge. (It’s okay if some of the topmost of the image is on the back side of the fold.)

HOW TO PRINT YOUR CARD USING PRE-SCORED CARDSTOCK

Check the pre-scored cardstock manufacturer’s directions that came with your pre-scored cardstock and follow accordingly.

If you do not have directions for your pre-scored cardstock, follow these:

1) Make sure you know which direction to place the image so it will print correctly according to the fold. The card should be pre-scored to fold inward. You will need to print the image on the outside of the cardstock. That is, the image is to be printed on the side where the fold is a bump.

2) Before printing a test page, use regular copy paper and draw a line where the fold’s bump should be and write “This is the outside”.

3) Place the paper, small edge towards the back, bump-side up, in your printer carrier.

4) Choose text to print on the test page such as IMAGE TO BE PRINTED HERE.

5) Print the page, watching as it exits the printer carriage. Check to see if the printed text is where you desire the image to be printed. (If the text is on the opposite side of the designated bump-fold, you will need to put your pre-scored paper in bump-side down.)

6) Check to see if your image is to be printed in landscape or portrait orientation and choose accordingly.

7) Place the blank, pre-scored paper in your printer carrier according to your test results.

8) Print card, making sure to set up the printer for cardstock, glossy, high-quality or photo-quality.

Wait several minutes for the ink to dry before folding.

9) Fold according to the manufacturer’s directions.
